Our instructors are all seasoned grapplers with tons of experience in the sport. They take pride in constantly improving their teaching as much as their jiu-jitsu.

TYLER LARSEN
TYLER LARSENHEAD COACH
Coach Tyler began his BJJ training in 2011 at Colorado Springs BJJ under Rigan Machado black belt, Bill Hosken. He’s had a very successful competition career, winning many local and national level tournaments as well as several professional grappling matches. His true passion, however, is helping others learn, excel, and become the best versions of themselves they can be.

Coach Trace is a Black Belt in BJJ, and an assistant instructor at Kraken BJJ. Trace Grew up in Fort Worth, TX and began training in 2012.
ANTONIO “CHANCHO” MARTIN

Coach Antonio is a Brown Belt in BJJ, and an assistant instructor at Kraken BJJ. Antonio Grew up in Falcon, CO and began training in 2011. He has won many local and national level tournaments, and continues to be a top competitor for our academy.

Coach Brent is a Brown Belt in BJJ, and an assistant instructor at Kraken BJJ. Brent Grew up in Westminster, CA and began training in 2014.

Coach John is a Purple Belt in BJJ, and the morning nogi instructor at Kraken BJJ. John wrestled from a young age, and began training Jiu Jitsu in 2013 while simultaneously coaching high school wrestling for several years.

Coach Carlos brings over a decade of training experience, as well as 15 years of service as a Colorado Springs Police Officer (Retired). This real world experience in the application of BJJ is an incredible asset to our curriculum.

Coach Eric is a Purple Belt in BJJ, and the morning gi instructor at Kraken BJJ. Eric Grew up in Reading, PA and began training in 2011.

Coach Johnny is a Purple Belt in BJJ, and an assistant kids class instructor at Kraken BJJ. Johnny Grew up in Corona, CA and began training in 1999. After a few years off in the middle of his journey, he resumed training in 2016.

Coach Matt is a Blue Belt in BJJ, and an assistant kids class instructor at Kraken BJJ. Matt grew up in Woodland Park, CO. Matt wrestled throughout his youth and high school years, and began training BJJ in 2021.
